Qigong through the seasons
A 4-week, June series to harmonize with the energy of spring
What is Qigong?
Qigong (Chi Kung) is an ancient Chinese system of gentle movement, breathing and meditation to nourish and manage the body’s vital energy, or Qi. Qigong is similar to Tai Chi, but does not require memorization of long series of movements. The qigong movements are simple yet profoundly affective and easy to learn. The movements -which can be done in standing or seated - can be practiced on their own, or linked together.
What is the series about?
According to Chinese Medicine, wood is the element of spring and symbolizes new beginnings, growth, flexibility, and expansive energy. Our spring practice will focus on unblocking and harmonizing the Liver and Gallbladder meridians to help you shed winter sluggishness and transition smoothly from winter, into our more active season of spring. Imbalance in this area leads to resentment, indecisiveness, a feeling of being stuck and can come with headaches, neck and should stiffness and digestive issues. In balance, confidence increases so we can plan and move ahead. We find more ease physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Qigong Through the Seasons (June Series) - Friday 8:30am-9:30am
After class, Julie invites you to commune over tea and coffee upstairs - grab a refreshment from the cafe and join in community connection.
