Alpine Flow Mat Movement

With Em

I grew up in the foothills with a love for the outdoors and physical movement. Through sports like hockey, soccer, softball, and skiing, I developed a curiosity about movement and the body’s complex mechanics in sport. That curiosity led me to complete a degree in Kinesiology, where I gained experience working with diverse populations through a variety of fitness methods. During this time, I fell in love with the mind–body connection and the role it plays in any exercise practice.

After moving back west to Canmore, access to the valley’s outdoor activities further deepened my interest in mindful movement. Now, I’m excited to bring my experience into teaching while continuing to learn more about how mat work and Pilates can improve exercise mindfulness and benefit the body.

The intention is to build movement awareness and strength that can carry over into activities of daily living, sport, and other forms of exercise.
